Fan speed does not seem to work corectly

i purchased the 36", 600 cfm black stainless samsung range hood. 1. it's loud. much louder than i expected. 2. i appear to only have 3 speeds. i cannot tell any difference between high speed and boost. (600cfm?) i spoke with samsung tech support and was told i needed to hold both the speed button (low, medium, or high) simultaniously with the boost button to activate boost mode. that did not work!
