I normally love LG appliances... But not this microwave. We built a house 4 years ago and got this microwave. And while it worked we liked it. However it lasted about a little over a year. We tried to get someone to come look at it but we live in a small town and not close to an authorized service rep. Eventually we got a refund from LG and went and bought a new microwave same one because we did like it and thought maybe we just got a fluke lemon one that didnt last long. But now were in the same situation. It broke again We dont know if theres a short somewhere in the microwave but one minute it worked and the next it stopped. Im very disappointed bas microwaves should last more than a couple of years. We will not be buying an LG microwave again. Originally posted on lg.com

We are very happy with the LG Extendavent Microwave we recently purchased. It has so many great features than the one we replaced which cost so more. Great for cooking and reheating. Great venting with several speeds that covers the entire range top. Excellent lighting over the range. Bought the microwave 2 weeks ago and we love it. The quality of build looks a lot better than the previous one we have. The fan to vent smoke out is a lot stronger with the strongest being the turbo. We bought a complete LG appliance set from Sams Club when we first moved to Florida two years ago. We loved the microwave oven because it had everything we wanted and needed and it looked so nice. We then moved to another house and had to buy new appliances again so we chose LG because we were so pleased with them the first time. However the microwave was out of stock and wouldnt be available for almost three months. Well we decided to wait for the shipment from Korea to come in and we are so glad we did. I Bought this unit Jan 25 from Frys and Thought it was a good purchase until we receive it thats when I found that their was so many things wrong with the unit when I call LG about the unit because it was a open box it was out of warranty even thou we had just purchase the unit so you know that has to made happy about the purchase. Nomore LG for me 1/31/2020
Purchased with all other LG kitchen appliances and spent a good amount of $$ because I didnt want garbage appliances. Keypad stopped working within 1st year. LG repairer changed parts out. Had the same problem again within a month. They sent repairman who changed another part. Worked for another 18 months then broke again. Love this microwave but was not happy that it started giving me trouble after 1 yr 9 months. Everything went dark and had message F3 Short. Unplugged and got it working again but then 5 months later did it again. Decided to buy another one was afraid might cause a fire. Loved it enough to buy the same model - just hope it lasts longer. Weve used our new LG range almost daily. Every feature has worked to perfection. Temperatures offered on top burners more than suit our needs and double checking oven temps with independent thermometer has been spot on. Only reason this range is not a 5+ is that broiler pan was not included with stove. Listed as an option and we made the assumption that it was standard equipment just like having two oven racks. We had an LG microwave for about 10 years with on outside venting. Decided to check Pleased to see LG now has a venting package that includes 4 fans two of which extend out over the outside cooking area of our stove. Weve had the microwave for a couple of months and it is extremely efficient at removing the cooking smells and oils that plagued us before getting this new unit. Originally posted on lg.com

The microwave itself has been working for the last 3 years relatively quiet and with acceptable performance. However The components are made of cheap materials and are prone to failure. So far I have had to replace the top and bottom door covers vent grill cover door handle and spring latch. Sometimes the microwave controls freeze and I have to unplug and plug it in again. We have had this microwave for 2 months and so far I like it very much. The LED light is very bright which is perfect for when I am cooking. The extended vent works great and there are three speeds for the vent fans. It heats cooks and defrosts very well and the sensor cooking is near perfection. There are only 2 minor negatives that are slightly annoying. The controls are at the bottom of the door which makes it difficult to see inside the oven and the interior is dark which again makes it difficult to see inside the oven. We purchased an LG over the range microwave in June 2019 and stop working just shy 60 days. We had an issue finding a repair person. Finally had a tech come and try ti repair it wuth no luck. Perhaps it is a small thing I am pleased the automatic cooking settings such as popcorn are so precise. My popcorn is perfect every time. This is a powerful microphone as well I have had to cut back timed settings. I was cooking oatmeal at four minutes now it only takes 3. We had to replace an older model that had issues with the control panel buttons and bought this one since it was very similar. Really like the extended exhaust feature and the controls are touch panel without the buttons to press. Works great. Bought within the last month. Geek Squad from BestBuy installed perfectly. Extended exhaust works well. Do NOT like the door window with only 4.5 inch height. Have to get up on toes to view what is cooking. Controls on the bottom of door window should go back along along the right hand side blank panel. Options for cooking include chicken nuggets mac and cheese and hot dog. Should have read the the options prior. NO reheating for coffee but for tea. Sensor cooking is by time and not sensor by food cooked. No option for bacon. Wish I had my Kenmore back and had repaired it. NO way to cut the beep off when pressing buttons or when item is finished cooking. This does what it is intended to do but ...would not buy again. Originally posted on lg.com
