This is our third dishwasher in the last 10 years, and without a doubt, it is the best one we have ever owned. It has a large capacity which is easy to fill with all sorts of odd shaped dishes and pans, and it is so quiet you can't hear it unless you put your ear next to it. Because of this, Bosch put a red light that shines on the floor indicating it is running, and we really appreciate that touch. As far as cleaning, we gave it the test of dried egg and dried oatmeal, and the dishes came out spotless without any pretreatment. This is a keeper!

I don't like this dishwasher. We bought it to replace a Kitchen-aid that died. We chose it based on the Bosch reputation and after reading all the great reviews of this model. This machine was $400 less expensive than another Kitchen-aid model we were considering. In hindsight, I wish we would have bought the more expensive Kitchen-aid.
How do I hate this machine; let me count the ways. 1. It just doesn't clean very well. Dishes must be rinsed and or soaked to the point of almost clean before loading in the dishwasher and even then, some of them remain dirty when the cycle is done. Don't even think about putting dishes with dried on food residue in this machine because there is not a prayer of them coming out clean. I make sure to load it properly, I've experimented with various detergents and no matter what I try, I still end up with dirty dishes at the end of the cycle. 2. The 3rd (upper) rack is useless. If you put greasy utensils on this rack, they will still be dirty/greasy when the cycle is complete. I stopped using it and just use the utensil basket in the in bottom rack. I only use the upper rack now if I have something that requires nothing more than a good rinse. I should just take it out altogether and free up some head space for the middle rack. 3.The Crystal Dry setting is a worthless gimmick used to command a premium price for this machine. Most dishes are dry at the end whether you use the setting or you don't. It does not dry plastic stuff any better and there is still pooled water in any recessed area of your dishes. I choose not to use the setting at all anymore because it is ineffective and it just adds an extra 30 minutes to the already excessive cycle length. 4. The projected red-light dot. Again, it is an unnecessary, worthless gimmick. This machine is quiet but I can still hear it just fine while it draws water, washes, rinses, and drains. The only time I can't hear it is during the dry cycle. Some models (ones that are even more expensive) have a red-light projection that shows the remaining time in the cycle and I guess that would be a helpful feature if you were willing to spend the extra money for it. 5. The Rinse aid dispenser. There is no way to gauge how close you are to over-filling it until you have, actually, over-filled it. Then, you must wipe up the spillage so you don't damage any of the surfaces. It is annoying and wastes Rinse-aid product. 6. The detergent compartment. I use about 1 tablespoon of powder detergent for a regular load. The door cover doesn't close well and it sometimes takes 3 or 4 tries before it closes and latches. At the end of the cycle, I frequently find a detergent compartment partially filled with sopping wet detergent goo that did not get completely dissolved. I also, frequently, find some of my dishes sprinkled with dried/baked on detergent granules. 7. There is no in-cycle water filtration. Any bits of food or residue that you didn't rinse off beforehand gets tossed around during the wash and rinse cycle and re-deposited onto other dishes and gets cemented/baked on during the dry cycle. 8. The tines on the bottom rack are annoying. The tall ones in the back are so close together you can't put, let's say, pasta bowls there. The tines in the front are so short they can't support, let's say, pasta bowls because they just fall over and collapse onto each other. 9. There is some sort of valve in the machine located on the left wall, near the bottom and towards the back wall. It is to be kept unblocked but that is difficult because that is where the tall tines are and where only tall items can be placed. It would have made more design sense to put the shorter tines in front of the valve. 10. There is only one large sprayer arm; it is made of plastic and it is in the bottom of the machine. I would expect an expensive machine like this to have an upper and lower spray arm, made, preferably, of metal. 11. I don't know why this machine has a separate On/Off power button that has to be turned on and off, in addition to a start button. I've owned several dishwashers and not one had both a power and start button. Sometimes, I'm not home to turn off the power when the cycle is done or maybe I've already gone to bed before it's finished, so when the cycle is done, the machine sits idle but drawing electricity for hours.
We bought this machine at the height of the Pandemic and none of the retailers had this model on display. Only one appliance store even had it in stock, so we purchased it based on written descriptions, alone. I think if we had the opportunity to actually see the machine in person and check it out, we would have chosen the Kitchen-aid instead. Lesson learned. This is what my husband and I call "paying tuition"

I've owned the Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher for several weeks now. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase. It is so quiet I don't even know it is running. It cleans very well and dries the dishes. I use the "auto" and "crystal dry" setting to get optimal claening and drying. I also add JetDry as recommended by the manufacturer. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because 2 times now the compartment holding the dishwashing packet did not open during the wash cycle and I had to run the dishwasher twice. (It happened to be 2 differnet brands which were shaped slightly different so it wasn't just one configuration). I am going to start using liquid dishwaher soap in the future to see if this makes a difference. Otherwise, am very happy with the purchase.

Replaced our old kenmore (probably 15 years old) with this Bosch. Easy to install. Love the third rack for utensils. I was a little worried about the ability of this thing to dry dishes based on reviews I had read. I can say that it does as good of a job drying dishes as our old kenmore that had a heating element. Good clay dishes dry better than plastic dishes. But overall I'm very happy with it. We pretty much run the heavy load cycle with sanitize and crystal dry activated. This cycle takes 3 hours. It is certainly a quiet dishwasher. Overall I'm very happy with it and would recommend it.

I really like my new Bosch dishwasher. I had one in my last house and wanted to replace this current one with another Bosch. I do wish that the normal wash cycle was not so long. In my machine the normal cycle is approx 2 1/2 hours. So I usually opt for the speed cycle of 60 minutes. The dishes do get clean but occasionally looks as if they could have used a longer cycle.......but 2 1/2 hours, NO. I also would like if the top rack for glassware was configured a little different. Or at least if more of the pieces were collaspable. But overall I do like this dishwasher. I was actually looking for a different machine but found out most models were at least a 6 month wait. Lowe's had this one, albeit more expensive, that was delivered the next day.

The dish washing and drying in this machine are great, however, we have oversized dishes and it is ver hard to load the dishwasher properly. The top adjustable tynes on the second shelf will not stay up. The adjustible tynes on the bottom are too close when up and when they are down, there is too much room between the stationary tynes. Both of these should be re-designed to be more useful.

This unit is amazingly quiet, I have to look for the red dot on the floor to see if the unit is running. Dishes come out clean, regardless of how they looked going in.

We had a 6 year old Bosch 500 series and the pump went out ( I think they should last more than 5 years but apparently not any longer). It leaked and ruined our kitchen floor. The good news in this nightmare...we could only get the 800 series due to short supply of the 500 series and it is a much nicer dishwasher.

This dishwasher is extremely quiet. It makes my dishes sparkle, even with dried on foods. The only negative I have to say is putting the soap and rinse aide in is difficult without spilling all over. The door has to be completely open which causes me to have to bend down and I have a bad back.

Somewhat difficult to install and programming could be better - directions tough - but after that great - installed a couple months and great.

This is our 2nd Bosch because we moved and had to leave our old one behind. We have lived in our new place only 3 months before deciding we had to have another Bosch. It is so quite, the dishes are so clean, easy to load. I love the 3rd top rack for utensils. Highly recommend.

I Liked my old Bosch better. This was supposed to be a big step up, given it was the equivalent of a 300 series and 15 years old. It's really not much quieter, which was a disappointment. It's a pain to load anything other than plates on the bottom rack. My old silverware basket split in half and could be placed in multiple locations allowing for more flexibility. This basket can only go in one location, making it difficult to load any pots/ pans/etc bottom rack. In theory, adjustable height racks are nice, but usually leads to interference with other levels. And the adjustment is jerky. The crystal dry is unimpressive. Not worth the added expense. Wanted to get the panel ready but both the manual and Bosch customer service were vague regarding whether old panel would fit.

I do not like this dishwasher, at all. It replaces my 12 year old Bosch & it doesn't stand up to its predecessor. The stainless steel front doesn't clean well. The control panel is weird & the drawers are shaped so that glasses have no place to sit without the danger of falling over. And the whole thing seems smaller. I do like the third drawer but that's about all I like. Also, dishes don't clean as well as my other one.

This is in my opinion the best Dishwasher in many ways. The installation was very easy. Hose and power cord routes via of a built in strap on each side depending on the installation. Instead of direct wiring to a break out box, it has a power cord that simply plugs in the back.
The mounting straps are very easy and the rubber strip on left and right hand side has an access hole to allow screws to be inserted and then hidden as small rubber flap (half circle) cutout then hides the mounting bracket and screw. Nice operating w touch sensitive controls. Many wash options and menu settings to customize. But defaults settings are good to use as they are. Bosch really thinks ahead on a lot of features. Be sure to download the full manual from site. Full manual has all important info.

For as many reviews I have read about not being able to tell if the dishwasher is running or not. I am shocked at how loud our 800 series dishwasher is. I can hear it running from the couch in our living room. Recruiting else so far is great. Washes and dries very well.

Had problems at first bc 2 start buttons & still unsure how to start -
But glasses come out beautiful. I had an irredesecnt glow and now gone. The top silverware rack a plus.

My new Bosch replaced a 14 year old Miele that I loved. I am getting used to the Bosch. It cleans and dries very well. I expect to love my Bosch too.
I would like to be able to move clips on the bottom rack over toward the open space designed for pots and pans. Doing so would enable me to fit more dishes. I will probably never put pots and pans in the dishwasher.
I have watched some videos on how to remove the clips. Seems simple enough but I haven't been able to do it. Can what I'd like to do actually be done and is there an easy way to do so?

The dishwasher cleans beautifully but the control buttons are hard to push to start it and cups don't fit well on the rack. Only one row is wide enough for our glasses and cups.

The dishwasher works fine, but the front panel is incredibly difficult to keep clean. The worst stainless appliance we own in that regard. My wife is about to have me replace it with another brand due to this issue. I don't blame her. It's a pain to keep clean.

We've only had the dishwasher a little over a week and it is by far the best one we've ever had. We're still in a learning curve of the best way to load the dishes and use the 3rd rack. It did seem we were able to fit more in our KitchenAid, but this one is much better built. The quietness and dryness of the dishes, including the plastics, have impressed us. Now if Bosch would only make a 30" gas range with a large (>4.6 cu ft) oven, our kitchen would be complete.

Dishwasher was installed in April and worked just great. Quiet and really washes dishes well. Last week, though, the machine completely stopped. No lights on the control panel. Checked the circuit breaker and it's on (as are other items on the same circuit). I searched online and it seems there *was* a problem a couple years back with the power cord overheating and melting some connectors causing these same symptoms. Not sure that's the case, but I scheduled a service visit under warranty. Unfortunately, the wait time for service is more than 2 weeks. Let's see how things go at the service visit ...

The dishwasher is an excellent product. But the manual does not give enough information. I would add the following: For loading, anchor plastics with heavier dishes. The water force is sufficient to clean even the heavier dish that is not fully exposed. The water force moves the unweighted plastics; they turn right side up and then hold water. To start the Bosch, tap Start gently and close the door quickly. The time stops blinking when Start is pressed properly (with a gentle tap). There is a slight beep and the Bosch starts. The red light on the floor glows constantly until washing is finished. Then it stops. The Start button plays two roles. It also resets. "Reset 3 seconds" means "Touch for 3 seconds to cancel previous setting".

We had been limping along with a very outdated dishwasher that never really cleaned the way we thought it should. Decided to spend a little extra money and get a good one. Bosch was on top of everyone's list. Couldn't be happier! So much room! And the way everything is organized inside is a dream. We love the very top shelf for the silverware. Genius! The glasses come out sparkling...no kidding...didn't think it was possible. The dishes come out clean and we won't buy any other type of dishwasher ever again.

This thing is so quiet a discreet light has to shine on the floor to let you know it's on. That's great. It gets things nice and clean, which is the whole point of a dishwasher.
The upper rack does feel a bit rickety when you pull it out. The controls are hidden on the top of the door which makes for a sleek look and for those with small children, takes away the attraction of pushing buttons. It did take my wife and me a little time to figure out those controls the first time we used it. That's not necessarily the fault of the design... a more explicit owners manual would have helped.
Overall, a fine piece of equipment.

Bosch hit it out of the park with the 800 series. Not only do all of the racks give you plenty of help organizing your dirty dishes, the quality of sanitization and the quietness are the best in the industry. We love it!

Great dishwasher. So, after trading in my old 17 year old dishwasher, I no longer have to wash dishes before loading them....just scrape of food and load! We also love the 3 shelves and the fact that the second is adjustable. My Bosch is so quiet I have to look at the floor to see if the red light is on. The best thing about my new dishwasher is that in the morning I awake up to sparkling clean dishes!

We purchased the Bosch 800 series dishwasher about two months ago from Home Depot and love it! It's very quiet in fact sometimes we don't even think it's turned on. It cleans well and most importantly it actually dries everything well. No need to dry or plastic after it's done cycling! It's not cheap, but worth the extra cost. We love it!!! And we know it's built to last!!

It took my wife's insistence that using a hand pump to empty the pool of water from our old dishwasher was not normal. Naww, it can go another year, I said. Two more occurances of hand-pump draining and non-professional disassembly and I gave in to her superior intellect. I had become used to the "waterfall feature whitenoise generator" that was my move-in grade dishwasher. The sound registered on my dB meter at 67.
Once we found a capable vendor, the 800 Series showed and was slipped into it new home. Its gleeming stainless steel interior matches my stainless steel kitchen counters and full backsplash. I realized that I no longer had to turn up the TV anymore once I turned on the washer. I caught myself putting my ear the Bosch more than once to confirm by noise alone that it was running. My decibel meter on my iPhone never rose above 23. A finer machine has yet to be made.
