We've had nothing but problems with this microwave since we've had it installed. You would think since it is a hight end poduct it would last for years instead of months. Trying to get customer service is another issue. Twice we've had no show, only to have to reschedule. And no the first "no show" was not during Covid.

We have the Model 800 (HMC80251UC/01) and the display went dim for about 4 yrs. It is finally unreadable. Turntable fully stopped working about a year ago. Before, it was intermittently stopping. I can't believe I paid all this money for this. I would be better off with a $100 Walmart special microwave. And Bosch is not making any effort to remedy the issue. They don't even have a replacement part for this. So their service people helpless as well. This was part of a bigger Bosch purchase (Matching oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher, chimney hood). The microwave tarnishes this Bosch brand. My advice is do NOT buy this microwave, in fact, do not buy any of teh 500 or 800 series products from Bosch.

I love the many options this oven has. I've always wanted a warming oven but didn't have room for the additional appliance, so this option is great. The only thing I don't like is the low sound of the timer. I've tried it on both low and high and it makes no difference. It's too quiet and I'm afraid I may miss the notification and burn some things.

Installed this speed oven in November, 2017 and it stopped working for the third time in 4 years. Not impressed to say the least! Looking at having at least $600 in repair costs whick is more than a third of the purchase price. Bosch should be offering replacement Speed ovens with higher quality door switch's to the consumers who thought they were purchasing a higher quality oven. I really like the oven's features but the lack of reliability trumps this. Bosch, do the right thing and reengineer the oven's equipment as the total lack of reliability is a stain on your name! (And replace the ovens with the reengineered model!)

We have the oven and microwave combo and the microwave has stopped working 3 or 4 times since it was installed at our new house in 2018. Now we call the 800 # to schedule service and they tell us to call back as they are too busy. The website to book an appointment has also been down. Please help!

This Bosch replaced a GE Microwave, that I had for 20 years... with no problems!! 2 years of owning this it broke!! It doesn't work!! Called Bosh Repair, the only appointment they had available was in 3 weeks, so I took it! 3 weeks came and they were a NO-SHOW!! I had to call them to find out they were not coming, and the only time they had for a tech to come out was in 3 weeks... UPSET to say the least!! Spending all that money for a BOSCH, and it breaks, and takes over 2 months to come and fix it!! STILL WAITING!! FYI SUBZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE BEST!!

I have had several Bosch Appliances over the years. The 800 microwave/oven combination is terrible. The microwave has been broken twice with less than 2 years of ownership. The cost for the initial repair was close to $500 through Sears (door hinge came loose). The second time it broke, I contacted bosch appliance repair and they did not come to repair it but rather said that multiple parts required to be ordered to fix it. I urge to to consider a different brand.

The unit operates just fine, but it takes longer to heat items in the microwave compared to microwaves I've had in the past. We purchased it thinking it operated as a full, albeit small oven too. But have since realized it is a small broiler too, and not a baking oven. The heat comes from the top only. Our bad for not reading the fine print.

We have had nothing but problems with this speed oven. We purchased this in November of 2016 and have had to have it repaired at least 10 times since then. There is something wrong with the door that makes it short out, losing all power until we have it fixed. We have gone months at a time waiting for repair people and parts. This is a known issue if you read the reviews, but we have not been able to find anyone who can properly repair it. It keeps happening over and over again. Very frustrating for such an expensive appliance. I wish I could give it a zero star rating.

I'd never buy this product again. Leaving aside the quality issues for a minute: the display is difficult to read, it is less powerful than the the $89 Hamilton-Beach microwave I had to buy because Bosch service technicians have failed to repair it after 3 service calls.(and 1 service no show). Did I mention it is impossible for my wife to clean it without a step-stool? The only positive is that it looks good mounted above my Bosch 800 wall oven.

Literally would never buy Bosch again . Zero stars if I could. Have called and emailed with no responses or people who do respond cannot tell me anything. I wish I had my grandma's stove that lasted her 60 years, the one she used to cook many many huge Italian meals. In this case, my convection microwave oven lasted 3 years. Shows that it is preheating but does not heat . The black plate also sparks. Never again. Also the cooktop has no more text on it. I use soap and water to clean . If it cannot withstand that, then i know it is a poorly designed product.

I am extremely disappointed with Bosch brand in kitchen appliances, I have Bosch built in microwave/oven combo, it got me one year manufacturers warranty, just after one year the microwave stopped working. I called in a Bosch tech, who would charge me $40 for every 15mins. The job was completed in one hour 5 mins of which the tech spent 20-25 mins outside in his car to search for parts and I ended up paying $298. Few months after the repair both micro and oven stopped working completely. This time I called in a certified tech from Bosch recommended company, he fixed the unit and I ended up paying $329. I will never recommend Bosch brand to any of my friends or relatives. I wouldn't give any star to this but it wouldn't let me proceed further so had to give it one star.

We have built or remodeled several homes and I have always installed all Bosch appliances and been very happy with them. This is the exception to that rule. The oven is only 1 year and 7 months old and has totally died. I am extremely disappointed - especially after reading all of the reviews which suggest that this product has had quality issues for several years. There are also several glaring design flaws - the microwave is very deep and difficult to clean. The option for a side opening door is a must. The control panel lighting is so faint it is difficult to read and the alarm is barely audible. This is a poor product and design for such a good company.

This oven is great in the microwave mode, the convection mode, but I have yet to get the hang of the speed oven. Is there a step-by-step cook book or recipe section on the internet. Most of the food I have prepared in the speed oven mode is undercooked.

Followup to prior review left on this forum...
I discussed the issue with Bosch customer Service who advised that I bring in an aoutorized service professional, which I did. Service professional found all door switches to be melted and another fuse blown and melted. I was told the switches are cheaply made and they replace a lot of them, across all brands. Unfortunately, replacing these parts did not result in the microwave working and a control board had to be ordered as well. Once replaced, the unit still did not function, but another melted wire end was discovered which when replaced fixed the problem. This turned out to be a multi-step process with no way of knowing how much cost was involved until repair complete. Bosch had requested that I reach out to them when I knew what was wrong, which I did. THey said they would review to determine if any assistance could be offered with the repair. I received a call today from Bosch, and they said they could not help me because the repair was already completed and they do not reimburse for repairs. I told them I was merely following their customer service rep's instructions which was to have the repair person to the house to look at the unit. Unfortunately, an estimate was not possible because fixing one thing did not fix the problem, and an additional reapir had to ensue, but the first had to be done to know what the second problem was. The Bosch customer service rep would not say anything other than "we do not reimburse for repairs," even though they told me to have it done and call after. There is still and issue with the door and the switches whcih is being addressed today. I was told that if I experienced further issues that I may need a new door altogether at which point a new oven might be a better option. Unfortunately I am rapidly losing faith in Bosch quality and now customer service. Good thing is, the dishwasher and fridge are still working.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014-2015 and installed this microwave/speed oven along with a wall oven and induction cooktop. Both the speed oven and the regular oven needed to have their control boards replaced within 2 years. Stopped working. The technician commented that this is a very common issue. (insert eye roll emoji here) Now this microwave has stopped working again. It tripped the breaker. The electrician came to inspect and found out the issue is with the unit and not the breaker. There is a "short" of some kind. We now have to have another appliance repair on this appliance next week. If I could do it over again, I would not purchase. I do use the convection part often and that is nice not needing to heat up the larger oven. Able to fit a 8x12 pan. With that being said, it is a lot of money to spend on new appliances to have them need constant repair $$$

Second Bosch appliance to stop working within a 1.5 year span. In new construction home, I replaced warming drawer not long after moving in then within 1.5 years of my certificate of occupancy the Speed Oven stopped working completely, no power whatsoever. Would reconsider if you are thinking about Bosch. I have 3 more of them and I hope they all last more than 2 years. Worked well for the time it was running, with the speed chef function being one of the best features.

It broke twice in 15 months. The first time it broke (it would not power up) it was repaired without charge as it was still under warranty (12 months). Last week it broke again: it turns on but not heating (turn table does not turn). To repair Bosch wants to charge us almost $500!

As many others have stated, there is a major design defect. The door latching and safety switch system will fail quickly. My failed in month 13 of our 12 month warranty. I've replaced the switch several times but it keeps failing. It may be that the cheap plastic parts are warping and causing the switches to not sequence correctly, it may be that the massive flex in the door triggers the switches in a wrong sequence. Either way, many have had this problem and you will too probably.

We bought this oven as part of a complete kitchen remodel. It is mounted above a larger 800 Series wall oven. Here are 4 things to consider when purchasing: 1) I have to remove the door to reach the back of the oven to clean it since the door opens downward. 2) As I had read in previous reviews, the alarm truly is pitiful, to the point of being worthless. I now always use a separate alarm when cooking. 3) When using the unit in convection mode, you lose the convenience of the microwave. For example, when you're baking something in this oven, you don't have a mircowave to melt butter or thaw a frozen item for another recipe. So remember to use the microwave for what you need before using it as a convection oven. 4) A full size cookie sheet will not fit in this oven.
None of these issues constitutes a major inconvenience to me, and I would buy another one if it became necessary. This oven is still terrific!

We've always been happy with our Bosch appliances but this model is horrible. Purchased in May, 2017 we immediately had difficulty opening and shutting the door. Had to use both hands on handle to get it open. After a little oer a year of mild use (just two of us) it broke. A plastic piece broke where the door latch enters the unit and it triggers the electrical system in the microwave/oven to stop. The repair person said that he has seen this A LOT. $320 repair...who knows why Bosch uses a small piece of plastic as part of the door latch! Well, guess what? Here we are one year later and the same thing just happened again! Unfortunately my husband refused to buy a warranty trusting the "high quality" of Bosch products so we are out of luck. Rather than drop another $320 for a piece of plastic we are going to purchase a different model and get a warranty this time. Another issue is that the alarm bell is so quiet it is useless. I expect more from Bosch.

Appliance company ordering parts to fix it. 1.5 years old that's really pathetic spending more money for quality and this to happen. Unfortunately didn't buy extended warranty. New modern kitchen, full Bosch appliance suite. Speed oven must have a design issue. In 16 months it has stopped working 4 times. Technicians have replaced all the electronic parts twice. No wonder the sales guy was very insistent about getting the extended warranty on this appliance. Every time it's on the fritz it's down for 3-4 weeks, parts always on back order. Thank goodness we kept the old $50 microwave in the garage. Do not but this product.
