I've searched for a very long time for a refrigerator that would fit in the built-in compartment and have all the features I want. Well, here it is! It seems to have unlimited capacity. I keep loading it up and it never seems to run out of space. I was concerned that the bottom freezer would be small with limited capacity. Not so. The design is excellent. My only negative is that the produce drawers seem a bit flimsy and do not slide in-and-out as smoothly as I would like. Now that the fridge fit is resolved, I can move onto the rest of the kitchen remodel!! Originally posted on Maytag.com

I had used Maytag appliances in the past and found the fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher models that I selected to be quality products with great features. I've had this refrigerator for about a month now. It seems bigger than the 22 Cu. Ft. that it is. I also like that the ice maker makes a smaller ice cubes. The downside is on other brands when you open the freezer door the top drawer (w/ the ice) pulls out halfway with the door on this one it doesn't. Also when water is filling the ice maker it's noticeably loud. Overall I am pleased with it and hope it's made well and durable. My last fridge (shelving and ice maker) did not hold up well. The left door does not open and close independently. We did not know about this feature when we went to Jerome's showroom, because they did not have this fridge on display. 1) If we need only the left side we still have to open the right door first and then open the left door. 2) If we need to close the fridge doors we must always close the left side door first and then close the right side door. 3) The sliding of the freezer door is not smooth. The main task of keeping food fresh and cool/cold it does excelently! So, why not 5 stars? We replaced a fridge of same size, but single door. Turns out I like the single door better as you could get in with one hand; with two doors it's awkward/impractical to open only one side with one hand - you need to open both sides to see well and/or take out the item. Another complaint is the veg and fruit drawers do not slide easily. Lastly quibble the Maytag label and the warranty tags are too pronounced on the front - how do I get these off without harming the appearance? Originally posted on Maytag.com

We purchased this model a week ago and amazed how much room we have vs. our side by side. Still getting use to where items should be placed, yet overall very pleased. Fridge does an excellent job keeping things cool, lots of space and lighting is excellent. The compressor is a bit noisy when it runs and the high speed water hose that fills the ice maker makes quite a bit of noise when it uses water. Originally posted on Maytag.com

I have a slightly smaller space for my refrigerator so reseached non-36" sizes. So glad I picked this one one. Great layout, great styling. There were some reviews mentioning noise. The only time I hear it is when it's refilling the water for the ice cube maker and that is short. Only issue is when pulling out drawers in fridge you have to be careful they don't come out too far. This refrigerator is quiet overall. It cools and freezes without any problems. I keep a thermometer in my refrigerator and the average temp is around 34 and freezer is 0. The only time I really hear it make noise is when water runs to the ice maker as it makes more ice. It only makes noise for a few seconds. I had to order this refrigerator. The Maytag 33" wide units are not normally stocked in stores. My house is older and the space for the refrigerator isn't large enough for the 36" wide refrigerators. This is the only complaint I have. Stores need to stock this unit because older homes like mine are not set up for larger units. This refrigerator was made in Amana Iowa. From day 1, out of the box didn't work at all ZERO. Had to have a technician come and fix the controller. Then, we had a feeling it wasn't very cold even if it was on coldest setting. After having food that keeps going bad, we put a thermometer and it was at 64F the whole time. Second technician comes, we have to stop using the fridge for 36 hours to deice it.... this time it works correctly, finally our milk is cold... Bought this in 2017. First thing to go wrong was the long deli drawer with lid that flips up keeps coming off the TOO SHORT pins. Finally I gave up and threw the door in the space between the fridge and the wall so it's not in use. Tried the straw on the pin trick, but that too kept failing and my thought was WHY do I have to rig this? It wasn't a cheap unit, so that's just wrong. Second is the right produce drawer - when you slide it open it falls off the groove into your hands. Luckily so far I've been able to catch it before it crashes out onto the floor. Last, I agree with many other reviews that it's a very loud unit when the ice maker is filling. I can live with that, though. The "love" part of this fridge is that it's nice looking and fits our needs much better than our old side-by-side fridge. Just frustrating things that I tried to remedy with Maytag when it was in warranty, but they sent me the wrong part. I gave up. Originally posted on Maytag.com

The door design is very poor. You must open the right door to be able to close the left door completely. So very disappointed with my new maytag appliances try to call no one answers. Call the warranty number they schedule a service technician to come out. The service technician then calls tells my 12 year old son to tell his mom he's not wasting his time coming over it's not covered under warranty.
