The unit operates well. My only complaint is that some carpentry was required for the unit to fit in the space above a utility drawer when it was replacing a unit of the same make and general design. That happened last time as well. Originally posted on www.ge.com

Poor design and poor materials Very disappointing that the fine print of the manual says "don't spill on cooktop or it can potentially cause pitting of the finish. Especially sugary foods.... Who cooks and never spills anything?!! No matter how careful you are, spills still happen!! What poor design and shame on a bunch of engineers for putting out a product that only looks good for a minute. I like the look of the product and am satisfied with its performance, especially like the power boil feature. But it is so very difficult to keep clean! Even a small drop of clean water makes a mark. I find I am spending a lot more time cleaning my stovetop than I thought I would. A suggestion: include a cleaning kit (Ceramabrite makes one) with the purchase of the cook top. Installation was easy. Love the fact that the unit sits on a cushion so that crumbs do not get stuck under the sides. With black knobs is looks nice. Knobs pop off for easy, under cleaning. Note, that every crumb and spill shows. So you just need to keep up with wiping it down. Works great. Originally posted on www.ge.com
